Terms of Service

The short version: These terms govern your use of unionyogastudio.com, our mobile app, and your membership with Union Yoga Studio. You agree to show up for your practice (and cancel if you can't), respect the space and other students, and accept that yoga has physical risks like any movement practice. We promise to run the studio with care, be honest about pricing, and make reasonable modifications for you when we can.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using our website, creating an account, purchasing a class or membership, or attending a class at our studio, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

You must be at least 18 to create an account on your own. Students 16 and 17 may attend with a parent or legal guardian's signed waiver. Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

2. About Union Yoga Studio

Union Yoga Studio LLC is an Ohio limited liability company operating at 4020 Powell Rd, Powell, OH 43065. Our owner is Pooja Kothari. Our website is unionyogastudio.com and our app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play under the name “Union Yoga Studio.”

3. Your use of our website

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, mirror, or automatically harvest content from the site without our written permission.
  • Circumvent technical protections (like rate limits or authentication).
  • Interfere with the site's operation or attempt to access another user's account.
  • Use the site to transmit malware, spam, or unlawful content.
  • Impersonate Union Yoga Studio, our staff, or our teachers in any public channel.

We welcome good-faith security research. If you find a vulnerability, please email pooja@unionyogastudio.com before disclosing it publicly. We will thank you sincerely.

4. Your account

Your Union Yoga account is hosted by Mariana Tek, our booking platform. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password secure.
  • Notifying us of unauthorized access (text or call (602) 750-9532).
  • The accuracy of the information you provide — especially your phone number and emergency contact.

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, our studio rules, or that we believe are being used fraudulently. We will notify you by email first when the situation allows.

5. Memberships & purchases

Prices and offers

Our current offers are listed on our Pricing page and in the Mariana Tek checkout. Prices on the Squarespace website may not always reflect limited-time promotions; the price shown at Mariana Tek checkout is the price you pay.

$20 intro month

The $20 intro month is for first-time students only (one per lifetime). It does not auto-renew. You can choose to continue with Unlimited YOU ($99/mo unlimited), a class pack, or drop-in at any time during or after your intro month.

Unlimited YOU membership ($99/mo)

  • Billed monthly in advance. The first charge occurs the day you purchase; subsequent charges occur on the same calendar day each month.
  • Provides unlimited classes across all 11 styles, 2 guest passes per calendar month, and freeze up to 30 days per calendar year.
  • Non-transferable. One account, one person.
  • Cancel at any time in the app or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle — no partial-month refunds.

Class packs

Class packs do not expire while our studio is operating. If we cease operations (we don't plan to, but we have to say it), you can request a refund of any unused classes within 90 days of the closure announcement.

Discounts

Our senior (65+), military, healthcare, and public-servant discount (15%) and our student and teacher discount (30%) apply once you've emailed a photo of your valid ID to pooja@unionyogastudio.com. We'll apply the rate to your Mariana Tek account before your first paid booking. Discounts are not retroactive.

Payment

All payments are processed by Mariana Tek's payment processor. By making a purchase you agree to Mariana Tek's terms of service and payment processing terms as well as ours.

6. Cancellation & refund policy

Class reservations

  • Cancel any class up to 2 hours before class start for no fee.
  • Late-cancel or no-show fees for members: 1 class deducted from your monthly allotment (but since Unlimited YOU members have unlimited classes, this is a soft enforcement — repeated no-shows may result in a $10 late-cancel fee and reduced advance-booking privileges).
  • Late-cancel or no-show fees for class-pack holders: 1 class deducted.
  • Late-cancel or no-show fees for intro-month: no direct charge, but repeat offenses may shorten advance-booking.

Membership cancellation

Cancel Unlimited YOU anytime in the app, online, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops the next charge; it does not refund the current month. You keep access through the end of the current billing cycle.

Refunds

We refund in these situations:

  • A duplicate or mistaken charge (always).
  • An unused class pack within 14 days of purchase.
  • A membership charge you did not authorize (we will investigate and refund promptly if confirmed).
  • A class we cancelled and could not reschedule.

We generally do not refund an intro month after your first class or a partial month of membership after use.

7. In-studio rules

  • Arrive 15 minutes early for your first class and 5 minutes early after that. Latecomers may be denied entry for safety reasons (heated rooms — the door doesn't open once class is in warm-up).
  • No phones in the practice room. Photos and video are welcome in the lobby; please ask before photographing other students.
  • Respect the quiet. The practice room is a phones-away, voices-down space.
  • Hygiene matters. Please come clean, avoid strong scents, and wipe down your space after heated classes.
  • Heat is not optional. Heated rooms run 90–105°F. If heat is new for you, start slow — take the first class in child's pose if that's what your body needs. Hydrate before and after.
  • Teachers may adjust touch only with consent. Every class, we offer a consent card; if you decline hands-on adjustments we will respect that silently.
Harassment policy: racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory behavior — toward our staff, teachers, or other students — results in an immediate and permanent ban from Union Yoga Studio. No warnings, no refunds.

8. Waiver of liability & assumption of risk

Please read carefully Yoga, hot yoga, sculpt, and pilates involve physical exertion, movement, and heat. There is an inherent risk of injury. By attending a class at Union Yoga Studio, you voluntarily assume that risk.

Before your first class, you will be asked to sign a Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk agreement through Mariana Tek. That waiver is the legally operative document; these Terms incorporate it by reference. You should read it carefully and ask questions before signing.

In short, you agree that:

  • You have consulted (or had the opportunity to consult) a physician before starting a yoga practice.
  • You will listen to your body, take breaks, and stop any pose that hurts.
  • You will disclose any injury, pregnancy, or health condition to your teacher so they can offer modifications.
  • Union Yoga Studio, its teachers, employees, and owners are not liable for injuries you sustain as a result of your voluntary participation, to the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — for example, liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

9. Intellectual property

The Union Yoga logo, brand marks, photography, class sequences we teach, written copy on this website, and the “Unlimited YOU” membership name are owned by Union Yoga Studio LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.

The 26 & 2 Hot Yoga sequence is in the public domain. Other class styles we teach (Hot Union Flow, Union Slow Flow, Yin, Sculpt, and Barre) draw on general movement traditions that no single studio owns.

10. Your content (reviews, photos, tags)

When you post a review, tag us on Instagram, or submit a testimonial, you grant Union Yoga Studio a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to repost that content on our website, email, and social channels with attribution. You can revoke that permission at any time — email us and we'll remove it from our channels within 7 days.

We will never use a photo of your face without your consent. Group photos in the lobby are considered opt-in if you're in them; tell us in advance or at the time if you'd prefer not to be photographed.

11. Third-party services

We use third-party vendors to run the studio: Mariana Tek (booking, payment, app), Squarespace (website), ClassPass (partner bookings), Microsoft Clarity (anonymous analytics), Apple and Google (app stores). Each is governed by its own terms. We are not responsible for outages, data incidents, or changes they make to their services, but we will work to minimize the impact on you.

12. Disclaimers

Our website, app, and classes are provided “as is.” We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of malware. We do not warrant that any specific class will produce a specific physical, mental, or emotional result.

Nothing on our website is medical advice. If you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery, or have a chronic condition, talk to your doctor before practicing.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, Union Yoga Studio LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of our website or services will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, loss of data, or emotional distress — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, this section applies only to the extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Union Yoga Studio LLC, its teachers, employees, and owners harmless from any claim arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our website or services, or your violation of another person's rights — except to the extent caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.

15. Termination

You can stop using our services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, our studio rules, or for suspected fraud. Upon termination, sections 8 (Waiver), 9 (IP), 13 (Limitation of liability), 14 (Indemnification), and 16 (Governing law) survive.

16. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

If you have a concern, we'd rather hear it directly first. Email pooja@unionyogastudio.com and we will do our genuine best to resolve it within 30 days.

If we can't resolve it, the parties agree that any formal dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Delaware County, Ohio, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules — except for small-claims matters, which may be brought in Delaware County, OH small-claims court. You and Union Yoga Studio both waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action.

Right to opt out of arbitration: You may opt out of the arbitration clause by emailing pooja@unionyogastudio.com within 30 days of creating your account, with the subject line “Arbitration opt-out.” Opting out will not affect any other part of these Terms or your access to our services.

17. Changes to these Terms

When we make material changes to these Terms, we update the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, send notice to your account email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of our services after the effective date means you accept the changes. If you don't accept them, close your account.
